Many companies are looking for ways to strengthen team cohesion, and fashions vary: extreme experiences had their day; some call on the military, others on meditation and well-being, others still on tasting fine wines, or even blending them… the possibilities seem endless.
At Kaqi, we believe the best team-building is the one that brings teams together around what unites them: their work, their challenges, their difficulties and their successes.
Asics France is currently running a very fine team-building operation for its teams (around 80 people), with the participation of its European team: staffing the magnificent stand that opens and occupies a large part of the exhibition attached to the Paris Marathon, through which every participant passes to collect their race bib.
A swarm of staff, apparently very knowledgeable about running and equipment, welcome you, offer to analyse your stride so as to give you some equipment advice, and of course present their products.
Efficient, well-informed, interested… you think they have chosen their hostess agency well!
The surprise – and a very pleasant one – is that they are not contractors, but head-office staff, from the managing director to the sales rep, from the IT specialist to the logistician. Advising me on shoes, the key accounts manager; analysing my stride, the specialist for a product range; ringing up my purchases, the head of IT, with the sales assistant beside him.
The effect works: these are not salespeople interested in the day’s takings, but staff investing in the future of their brand, their company. And our experience is as interesting as theirs, because they meet different people, around what makes up their daily life and gives meaning to their professional commitment: their products.
It is economical (no contractors), useful (cross-experiences), commercially effective – and it is a moment of shared emotion, because the thousands of visitors who pass through no doubt bring energy, expectations and messages.
So, Asics Team – hats off!
